Catchin Up

On Saturday, we went to the electronics mall. It was like a regular mall, only bigger, and there was only electronics. While we were there, I got an awesome digital camera! It's so small and cool! We also went to lunch with some of my aunt's family. It was a fancy restaurant with really interesting food. I had jellyfish, sweet and sour fish, and barbque fish. I ate with chopsticks, which I'm really good at. We also went to the Bund. We went on a boat and saw the Oriental Pearl, the Jin Mao building, and all the other skyscrapers. We went back to the Bund later, at night to see all the lights and the buildings that were lit up, but we were to early, and one of the lights were on yet.

On Sunday, we got up early to go to Hang Zhou, a city about 2 and 1/2 hours south-west of Shanghai, to see the West Lake and some of the Buddhist temples and gardens. Something funny that we saw was a monk on a cell phone. I took tons of pictures there. There was a big and steep hill that had stone steps leading all the way up. There had to be at least a thousand steps. When we finally did get to the top, guess what was there, people trying to sell us drinks! Then we had to climb all the way back down, which wasn't so bad. The West Lake was cool too. I took a lot of pictures there. The scenery was great. We saw lot's of carved stone and metal statues. We did so much walking that day, and I was so tired.

Today, we were going to go to the zoo, but traffic was really bad so we just went to another temple area which wasn't really temple like. There were lot's of stands and shops trying to sell stuff. There was also a lot of decorations up for Chinese New Year. We went to so many shops today. At one of the shops I bout my Mom a real pearl necklace for her birthday for only 150 yuan, which is only about 20 USD. It was so cheap. We also went to a DVD store that sold pirated DVDs. They had some really new movies that hadn't even come out yet.
